The breast screening service at Whipps Cross merged with the Central and East London breast Screening Service in 2006. The hospital is a local facility that screens women mainly based in Waltham Forest, although women from the other boroughs can attend for screening at Whipps Cross, should they wish.

The unit itself is small but extremely popular with the women that attend due to the cosy environment and ever smiling staff. The hospital houses a very well stocked shop and good facilities for those wanting to grab something to eat or drink. It also has secure car parking facilities, although spaces are limited.

Transport

• The nearest underground station is Leytonstone on the central line
• You can take an overland train to Wood Street or Leytonstone High Road
• Buses: 56, 257, 357, W12, W19 and W15. The W15 and W19 pass through the hospital grounds.
