Central & East London Breast Screening ServiceThe Central and East London Breast Screening Service invites approximately 40,000 women per year for screening. Screening is organised according to your GP practice in all boroughs other than Waltham Forest, where screening is organised by area. Once every three years your GP practice will be contacted and all women between the ages of 50 and 70 will be routinely invited. Not every woman will receive an appointment as soon as she is 50. You will receive your first appointment before your 53rd birthday and therefore there is no need to contact us for an appointment.
Women over the age of 70 are encouraged to continue with breast screening but must contact the screening office once every three years for an appointment.
Inviting women in Waltham Forest
Women who live in Waltham Forest are, as all other women, invited every three years. However, they are not invited according to which GP practice they are registered with. Women living in Waltham Forest are invited by area code and date of birth. This makes it more difficult to give women a specific time at which they can expect to be invited, but below should give you some idea of when your invitation will arrive in the post.
Inviting women in all other areas
For women in all areas except Waltham Forest please locate your GP in the list below.
